We fight for immigration justice and stand in opposition to the imperialist violence of the U.S. empire, both at home and abroad.
We develop and manage the chapter’s messaging across newsletters, social media, and public communications.
We work to elect open socialists to public office and build independent political power and actuate change for the working class.
We advocate for universal healthcare and support coalitions organizing around the New York Health Act and other efforts to guarantee healthcare as a human right.
We fight for tenant rights and de-commodified housing as a human right. This includes canvassing for the Rent Guidelines Board to demand the lowest possible (or zero) rent increases, organizing local campaigns to pass Good Cause Eviction laws, and advocating for long-term social housing through the NY Social Housing Development Authority Bill and the federal Homes for All Act.
We build working-class power and socialist class consciousness through union solidarity and direct support. Our efforts include backing Amazon ULP strike pickets, Starbucks Workers United pickets, and organizing canvases with customers and baristas for SBWU’s Red for Bread actions.
We coordinate chapter recruitment, onboarding, and social event planning to build community and retain members.
We support our communities and meet their needs through regular mutual aid efforts. By showing what socialism looks like in action, we challenge capitalist narratives and counter a century of Red Scare propaganda. Our work includes weekly support for food shares across Long Island and maintaining the People’s Food Forest, a permaculture farm and community garden.
We host monthly reading groups, theory discussions, and socialist movie nights to help members and the public deepen their understanding of socialism and collective liberation.
We organize to advance the liberation of all people oppressed by gender and sexual hierarchies. We fight for bodily autonomy, safety, full inclusion in society, and justice for all gender-oppressed people.
